Collective Memory Box

During the evolution of our society property took on different values. From time to time, it has been considered as an essential personal freedom other times as the first cause of iniquity. Property is currently defined as a fundamental right, established by our constitution.

The property owner establishes a boundary through his objects, he determines a control zone, nevertheless the objects share a memory that may not stop at its owner.

The project proposes to a community to place common objects inside a box, once the box it is closed its inner space is defined and it can be observed only through a periscope. Everyone is free to recognize themselves in the objects left by others.

The box emulates a votive chapel, borrowing a religious tradition, offering a laic ex voto to the collective memory of a community.
